The renaissance occurred in Italy for many reasons. But the three main reasons are: Ruins of Rome, Wealth of Italian cities, Invention of Printing Press. These things struck the renaissance to begin in Italy. The ruins of Rome with art and architecture was an obvious choice to go to there. And the cities were very wealthy to start businesses and inventions. And the printing press changed everything. It started the printing revolution.
